For over 16 years, I’ve helped organisations translate complex science, medicine and innovation into stories that resonate—with journalists, stakeholders and the audiences that matter most.
My background in journalism shapes everything I do. I understand how newsrooms think, what makes a story land, and how to turn technical detail into clear, compelling narratives that cut through.
I’ve worked with a wide range of organisations—from global advocacy groups and pharmaceutical leaders to fast-growing healthtech and biotech companies—supporting them to raise their profile, launch products, and communicate with authority on sensitive subjects
“Would a journalist cover this?”
Since beginning my professional career all the way back in 2012 as a news reporter – freelancing for national newspapers, before joining Health Service Journal the following year – I’ve always read the news with a forensic eye.
“Where did that story come from? Was this a simple press release rewrite, or was it the product of weeks, if not months, of digging? Why has the story been framed that way? Who benefits from this wording?”
This approach has guided me through my years as a news reporter and freelance features writer, then as a marketing copywriter and from there into PR and communications in the healthcare sphere.
That focus, combined with the desire to tell stories in a direct, creative and impactful way, is what motivated me to start NRK Communications in 2021.
The insider advantage
Translating complexity
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
I partner with healthcare and science organisations to translate complexity into stories that do real work in the media, content and
Whether that’s helping experts to explain the impact of policy changes in biotech legislation to UK industry, or publicising groundbreaking AMR research through global media platforms,
, policy and technology into stories that land,
ensuring they resonate with the audiences that matter most – be they patients, healthcare professionals, care systems or the public at large.
My ability to get stories placed, coach leaders to get their message across clearly, and work with trusted clients on how best to get audiences to take action is largely a product of my journalism background [link] and my time working in communications agencies.
